About ISR Lessons

Infants 6-12 months learn survival floating.  Babies first learn  breath control and are then taught correct floating postures, and the skills to remain floating for varied periods of time, from varied positions in the water.

Children 12 months to 6 years learn to swim- float- swim.  Your child will learn breath control and how to turn around in the water to secure the edge.  He will then learn to swim through the water, rollback-to-float, and how to flip over to swim again...this sequence can be repeated until safety is reached.

 ISR lessons ARE:

  • For children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years
  • 5 days a week, Monday through Friday
  • Approximately 10 minutes in length
  • Taught at your child's emotional and physical pace, averaging 4-8 weeks in length
  • Always gentle and individualized
  • Eventually taught with clothing, because it is imperative children know how to make adjustments to their skills when fully clothed
  • Always given with safety as the top priority

 ISR lessons ARE NOT:

  • Easy.  Learning survival skills can be fun but it also requires work on behalf of  the child and parents. ISR parents commit to lessons 5 days a week for 4-8 weeks,  adhering to all ISR protocols, paperwork, etc. BUT...it works and it's worth it!
